Introduction of GR Composite Titanium White Pigment

1. GR composite titanium white pigment influence to contact ratio of coatings

From the above table, you may find that used in coating production, GR composite titanium white pigment have similar contract ratio ( stand for coverage ratio ) to common titanium dioxide.

2. GR composite titanium white pigment outstanding functions of shielding and absorbing ultraviolet ray
Make up 0.2% suspension solution of respectively TiO2 R818 and GR composite titanium white pigment TR818. Scatter and mix them for 20 minutes by supersonic wave, take sample and test by 72-type spectrophotometer to check light transmittance, by which we may judge absorption effect of solution to ultraviolet ray

From the above table 4, you may find that suspending solution of the GR compound titanium white pigment and the rutile titanium oxide have basis consistent light transmissibility rate to various wave lengths monochromatic light. The light transmissibility rate is low to 400nm or smaller ultraviolet ray, along with the increase of incident light wave length, the light transmissibility of suspending liquid will increase in large scale, has reached above 40% at 700nm. Because the difference of transmissibility may be considered approximately the solid matter itself factor to causes. Therefore GR compound titanium white pigment and the rutile titanium oxide powder have the very strong absorption shielding effect to the ultraviolet ray.

Since the good absorption shielding effect to the ultraviolet ray, the rutile titanium oxide powder displays excellent chemical steability and good aging resistance, chalking resistance and resistance of color change Being similar optical characteristic, the GR compound titanium thus also have the same aging resistance and other optical performance.
By the above two experiments and analysis to key index in coating manufacture, we may conclude:
GR composite titanium white pigment may be widely used in ink, coating and paints. It can improve performance of coatings, lower substantially material cost in coating production.
